The Lake House

Now that the weather has started warming up again, its got me craving the outside time! The weather was perfect last weekend when we made the trip down to Bloomington to go to a family friend’s lake house.  It was a great time to be able to spend time with the family, and get away from it all, if even for a short little snippet of time!

look at those little toofers!!

Now that its almost the 4th of July weekend, its about time to get back into that maxin and relaxin mindset again! I can’t wait!! I’m looking forward to just hanging around the house, cooking out, and of course, watching the hubs do his fireworks (from inside of course…#SensitiveEars).  Of course, with the holidays come fabulous sales! Monday, monday

I’m glad that I’m able to write this and say that the day is about over! Mondays, I swear, go in super slow motion…on purpose…just to torture us.  I suppose its probably the fact that I will have a 5 day weekend after this week, so its just the anticipation of it all!! blah! It’s been so beyond gorgeous here in Indianapolis the past couple days! Not exactly feeling like summer weather, and more like spring, and I am loving it! Once the sun started going down, it actually felt chilly, therefor the jeans and long sleeve in the post today! I also couldn’t help but get pics with my sweet little maddie paddy.  Big sis was at VBS, so she wasn’t able to join in, but that girl usually jumps at the chance of pictures! I just got the new lense as well, and loooving it!

Flo-rida!

So our “vacation” has came and went in what felt like a blink of the eyes! (Doesn’t it always?!) I use the term vacation with quotes because…well..traveling with a baby, I wouldn’t call exactly a vacation. Both girls I feel had their boat rocked in terms of routines, which I know for sure comes as part of the baggage of the fun.  We ended up moving our flights up, just because the thought of wanting to get up again at 4 in the morning to go to the airport made us want to poke our eyes out with a dull crayon. Anywho! We didn’t make it to any theme parks, which to be 100% honest….I ain’t losing any sleep over it! Everything a theme park entails makes me tired just thinking about it! Here’s just a quick little review of some of the “stops” we made during our time in the sunshine state!

Marriott World Center Resort-  this was the resort and conference center that was the whole reason we came down, as it was where my husbands work conference was.  I must say, in terms of resorts for family friendly, this one has to be pretty high up the list! It not only boasts numerous pools, it has a very baby/toddler friendly splash pad, as well as many outdoor activities to keep kiddos entertained!  Kennedy was a big fan!

Orlando International Drive Outlet Mall- I’ve been to this outlet mall several times, but each time I leave, I have one teeny tiny ounce wish I lived down here to go anytime I wanted!  They have pretty much every outlet store you could expect, the ones that draw me in are the Victoria’s Secret, the stretch of the children’s stores (Gymboree, carters, Justice for the big girl of course), and of course the old faithfuls of GAP and Nike. The place also sure knows what they’re doing, putting a fidget spinner kiosk at the entrance to the place. *cue spending $30 on two emoji print time wastes…*

Disney Springs- Without going to an actual park this time around, it still was nice going to Disney Springs to get the spirit of all the excited park-goers.  The highlight for me was for sure Sprinkles cupcakes! We didn’t do the ATM because we wanted to make sure we were getting the freshest of the fresh, but my goodness, those cupcakes are a special gift for my belly. Those are as smooth as butta!

Winter Park- my sister lives in this adorable community, so we spent a little time there and saw what new has came around! We stopped at their just opened Nordstrom Rack! All the heart eyes– I’ll be sharing my buys here soon!  I love going to Nordstrom Rack to begin with, but one that’s brand new that is still so organized and fresh was just on point.  My sister and brother in law also took me to a restaurant called “The Coop” which was ON POINT you guys! If you love southern hearty delicious food, with the CUTEST grandmas kitchen/shabby chic mix decor, make sure to stop by this joint! We finished out our time in Winter Park with a stop by the ol’ shake shack!

Winter Garden village– this was a surprising little stop for us on the trip– not only did it help that it was just around the corner from my dads house, and also had a target *cough* hello happy place– it had a lot of the regular go-tos, but it also had a Forever 21 with a Forever21 red included- I’d never heard of what this was before, but cue good old google, I found that it has all of the cheapest of the cheap goods of forever 21 in one spot! What’s better than that?! I’ll be sharing the finds here shortly!

Thanks for stopping by!

There was no sponsorship with this post, all were my personal thoughts on what we experienced on our own

Getting the hang of things

Having two kids has felt like such a weird transition, and let me explain why. We were so used to having just Kennedy for so long, and it was the absolute normal, that I never knew how we were going to be able to bring another little one into our tribe and things still feel right.  Well, once little Madison made her way to this world, just like all moms of 2+ kids say, your heart grows enormously and the love just continually grows so much– I have completely felt this way, and for the most part, everything along the way with Maddie as a baby had been a treat rather than a challenge, like a first baby usually seems.

I say all of this, because the one thing that had heightened my anxiety about having two kids has 100% been traveling. We haven’t really done any since Madison has came, other than an hour away, but this trip to Florida to visit my family has had my anxiety level on a scale of 1-10, at about a 35. Trying to make sure you have everything you need, along with keeping both children happy and entertained, along with as comfortable as they are at home has made me so stressed!! It doesn’t help that the little one has had a cold/teething, but the trip has thrown her off of her routine that she thrives on, and Lordy bee, she’s let us know she’s not happy with us! We’re making the best of it though, and hoping this sun will show its shiny face for us a little while we’re here!

Well, here we are!

SO! If you’ve found your way here, welcome!  I posted the picture above as it was the most current picture I have of the little fam bam.  You might be asking where the other member of our family, Kennedy is.  You can bet she was in her room, locking her self in, being the most DRAMATIC self she knows she can be, all because she didn’t like her dress.  Well…when you’re dealing with a 5 year old, there’s really only so much you can do, so family pictures with just our little Maddie were what came of it!  It’s too bad, it probably would’ve been one of the last time I could’ve gotten pictures done of the little girl without huge gaps of missing teeth in her mouth!

Well, onto other things!  There seem to be many reasons I come up with myself on why I’ve never started a blog.  It seems to hard…how do people come up with content constantly….I know nothing about it….I won’t be photographic enough….the list goes on and on.  After years of spending my quiet time before bed sitting on my phone or Ipad looking at all the bloggers that I love, and wishing I could do what they’re doing, I’ve finally came to the point of “Why not?!”.  No, things aren’t going to be exactly as I think they will— No, I’m not going to be the best— but I really want to be able to put my time and passion into this baby now, and to be able to document this wonderful life that I’m blessed to have! So, keep checking back, and enjoy the suburb life we’ve grown into and keep up with the lambs!!
